Charlie Deese

Multidisciplinary design firm, Cushing Terrell, has promoted Charlie Deese, AIA, NCARB, to the role of Director of Education Design. He joins co-directors Corey Johnson and Jim Beal to help strengthen and build client relationships and business development for the firm’s work in the education market.

“With my passion for design and serving others, I feel fortunate to find myself in a role where I can focus on shaping the way we approach our education work and empower our teams,” said Deese. “Ultimately, the best part is creating environments where students, teachers, and administrators can thrive.”

Deese is a recognized design professional and project manager with experience in the education, commercial, and residential markets as well as expertise in planning and large development projects. In recent years, he has focused specifically on Cushing Terrell’s master planning and education design projects, demonstrating his skills as a senior managing architect, programming, design, and team lead. Deese specializes in leading project teams and stakeholder groups through a collaborative and inclusive visioning, programming, and design process to successfully identify and incorporate client and community goals into tailored solutions for each project.
