EDmarket Seeks Grant Applications for EDspaces 2016
SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Silver Spring-based Education Market Association (EDmarket), a leading trade organization for the educational products marketplace, is seeking key school, college or university decision makers involved in the design, build, management or renovation of an educational facility to apply for an Educational Facility Grant for the EDspaces 2016 Conference & Expo. The conference and expo will take place in Cincinnati November 2-4, 2016.
EDspaces Conference & Expo is geared toward professionals who design, equip and manage creative learning environments. The international event, co-located with the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education’s Fall Conference, showcases the newest and most innovative products for educational facilities and includes a CEU-accredited education conference focused on forward-thinking, sustainable design and the changing impact of environments on learning.
The program aims to assist school and university facility planners, administrators and business/purchasing officials in making more effective decisions for their ongoing and future facility construction or renovation projects. Meanwhile, the program also encourages these attendees to take part in discussions about how facilities and learning interact. Last year’s program awarded more than 100 grants to school districts and colleges and brought nearly $9 billion in current construction projects to the exhibit floor.
The grant award package includes hotel accommodations for up to three nights at an EDspaces host hotel and full conference registration, which includes educational sessions, exhibits and networking events. Applicants must complete a brief application, providing information regarding planned renovation or construction projects. As the Educational Facility Grant Program is a competitive application process, applications will be evaluated based on the projected number and value of potential building projects.
Completed applications are due by May 27, 2016. Grantees will be notified by June 30 and must accept by August 19, 2016. Registration for the event will open the first week of May.
