John D. Albers, AIA, LEED AP, was named senior project manager at the Minneapolis office of architectural firm LEO A Daly. He will be responsible for managing the progress of various healthcare projects.


The Albert Kahn Family of Companies, a provider of architectural and related services, announced Michele Tasca earned certification from the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers. Tasca has more than 25 years of experience as an interior designer.


HKS Inc., a Dallas-based architectural firm, promoted Brian McFarlane to director of healthcare development for North America. During his 20-year career, McFarlane has worked with several healthcare organizations throughout the United States.


California-based HMC Architects appointed Pasqual Gutierrez, AIA, director of architecture. Pasqual is also director for the AIA California Council and serves on the board of directors for the California Architects Board.


Newton Chase was named managing principal of HDR’s architectural office in San Francisco. He was most recently healthcare principal for the firm’s international design studio.


Cannon Design, an international architectural, engineering and planning firm based in New York, named Martha Ball associate principal. She is the science and technology leader at the firm’s Los Angeles office.


Jackson Healthcare, a provider of hospital management and healthcare information technology based in Georgia, appointed Charles R. Evens and Reynold J. Jennings to its advisory board. Evens serves as president of International Health Services Group, an organization that supports medically underserved communities, and Jennings serves as chairman of Talentum Health, a healthcare information aggregation company.


Shawmut Design and Construction, a Boston-based national construction management firm, promoted Brian Stys to the newly created position of vice president of marketing and business development. Stys has been with the firm for 16 years.


Manufacturers


Dinex-Carlisle, a manufacturer of food service equipment and meal delivery systems based in Glastonbury, Conn., named Jacqui Gustafson vice president of sales and marketing. She previously served as vice president of marketing for the company.


Wausau Window and Wall Systems, a Wisconsin-based provider of engineered window and curtainwall systems, named Lisa May healthcare market manager. May will work with hospitals, medical centers, clinics and other facilities to provide technical assistance, sustainable design input, thermal modeling and other services.


Brian Krenke was named executive vice president at KI, a furniture manufacturer headquartered in Green Bay, Wis. He will oversee all aspects of KI’s sales and marketing, including national accounts and Pallas Textiles. He will also manage the company’s design and development group.


Case Systems Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturer of casework systems for healthcare facilities, hired Dan Landman as director of sales and marketing. He has executive-level sales and marketing experience at several other companies.


Haws Corp., a manufacturer of drinking fountains and emergency equipment based in Nevada, named Sam Sarver sales director for industrial/safety markets. He has more than 30 years of experience and most recently served as sales director for the eastern United States.


Tremco Roofing, a provider of roofing and weatherproofing products based in Beachwood, Ohio, promoted Kurt Sosinski, RRC, CDT, to director of product management. He joined the company in 1983.


Vince Throckmorton joined St. Louis-based Control Technology and Solutions as an account executive security specialist. He has 25 years of experience in the electronic security industry.


Mestek Inc., a Massachusetts-based company specializing in HVAC technologies, hired Andrew Dirats as engineering manager for the company’s HVAC and hydronic product groups.


Krieger Specialty Products, a manufacturer of custom door and window with acoustic and security enhancements based in Los Angeles, announced that Bob Carpenter, south region sales manager, was named technical consultant. He will be responsible for national sales strategies, among other duties.


Keith Gray was named director of technical marketing at the Mohawk Group, a carpeting manufacturer based in Marietta, Ga. Gray has more 20 years of experience in research, development and design of floor coverings.


SMA American Inc., a California-based subsidiary of solar technology provider SMA Technology AG, hired Dave Wojciechowski as director of sales. Before joining SMA, Wojciechowski was director at global sales of Emcore Broadband, a fiber optic and photovoltaic company.


Organizations


J. Beattie, AIA, LEED AP, director of architecture at the Miami office of Leo A Daly, was elected co-chair for the Florida Caribbean Regional Council of the U.S. Green Building Council.


The Design-Build Institute of America named Lis Washington, CAE, executive director following the retirement of president and CEO Lee Evey. The transition will be complete by June, according to the institute.
