The ionator EXP and ionator HOM from Activeion Cleaning Solutions activates and converts tap water into ionized water, and can kill the H1N1 virus and other bacteria. Tests show that the spray-bottle devices kill H1N1 Influenza A virus in about six seconds, according to the company.

Packaging Concepts Assoc. LLC manufactures Guardian Plus, a germ-killing hand sanitizer packaged in a spray dispenser. It is a waterless liquid composed of 65 percent ethyl alcohol and 0.3 percent triclosan and contains Vitamin E and other emollients to protect the skin.

Available in the manufacturer’s M-PAK personal pocket-size dispenser, the 1-ounce leakproof bottle features a non-aerosol twist-lock directional spray and gives approximately 225 sprays. The sanitizer is also available in .5-, 2-, 4- and 8-ounce bottles.

Zep Inc. manufactures a line of EPA-registered products that are effective against MRSA and other bacteria and viruses that can be found on surfaces in public facilities. The line includes liquid, neutral, towel and heavy-duty cleaners for mats, showers, locker rooms, equipment and bathrooms.

The company also offers a line of skin care products with compatible product dispensers, including liquid bacterial, foaming and lotion hand soaps, and alcohol and nonalcohol foaming hand sanitizers.

The KaiFly system from Kaivac Inc. combines microfiber, window squeegee and chemical injection technologies to remove harmful bio-pollutants from surfaces. Users spray diluted cleaning chemicals directly onto the microfiber pad, which allows for an even application on surfaces, and the squeegee simultaneously removes soils and dries the surface.

The system removes 80 times more bacteria than conventional methods, according to the manufacturer.

The new RS 501compact outdoor sweeper from Niflfisk is an all-season wet/dry sweeper with the power for outdoor maintenance. Its top-draw vacuum design can pick up sand, leaves, liter-sized beverage containers and other litter. Rear steering enables the machine to maneuver close to obstacles, including curbs and buildings.

The vacuum comes standard with a three-stage water curtain dust suppression system for dust control in open areas. Optional features include a pressure washer with 3,000 psi capabilities, a self-retracting 25-foot hose and a 10-foot rear vacuum hose.

The HYSO sensor-operated door handle dispenser from Sloan Valve Company automatically releases a burst of cleaner on a door handle on a preset basis. The battery-powered dispenser is made for handles on public restroom exits and stalls, doorknobs and handles in patient rooms, medical centers, food service establishments and more.

The dispenser uses the HYSO Aerosol Refill, and an LED indicates when a refill is needed. It mounts inches above the target surface and only releases cleaner when it senses that a user is out of range.

Two hand soaps from Enviro-Solutions, ES 50 deodorant lotion soap and ES 59 soy and walnut shell hand cleaner, were certified by the independent EcoLogo program.

The certification verifies that the hand soaps perform as well or better than conventional hand cleaners, according to Enviro-Solutions. The certification also ensures that the products have limited toxicity, are biodegradable and produce minimal waste, are derived from sustainable sources, and have fewer ingredients that are considered harmful to peoples’ health and the environment.
