Ben Martin
Indianapolis-based Schmidt Associates, a regional architecture, engineering, and interior design firm, has hired Benjamin (Ben) Martin as a senior electrical engineer.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a graduate of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, Martin began his professional career as an electrical engineer for Mussett Nicholas + Associates, Inc. where he worked on the Westfield High School football stadium and renovation and addition, as well as the Irwin Office Building for Cummins Inc. Before joining Schmidt Associates, Martin was an electrical project engineer with Specialized Engineering Solutions where he was responsible for the design of lighting, power systems, back-up emergency generators, communications, fire alarms, and Arc Flash studies for healthcare, education, government, and community projects.
“I am committed to helping Owners by going above and beyond to provide value,” Martin said. “I take pride in solving complex problems and knowing what I am doing is worthwhile and useful to others.”
Martin will be working on electrical engineering projects for the firm’s K-12 studio. He also hopes to focus attention on power distribution and lighting design in schools.
“Ben is a great addition to the Schmidt Associates engineering team,” said Eric Broemel, Principal in Charge of Engineering. “As engineers, we enjoy taking things apart and finding better solutions for rebuilding. Ben’s versatile experiences doing this will be a value-add to our Owners. “
