JOPLIN, Mo. — Leveled by an EF-5 tornado in May 2011, the city of Joplin celebrated a milestone on Oct. 3, 2014 with the completion of the city’s new high school.
Read moreWAIHAPU, Hawaii — The Hawaii Department of Education and Waihapu Intermediate School have partnered with Santa Monica, Calif.-based DLR Group to design a facility that will house the school’s new DREAMS Program. The Digital media, Robotics, Engineering/Electronics, Animation, Music and Science (DREAMS) facility will serve the school’s 1,200 seventh and eighth grade students, and allow the school to provide 21st century learning opportunities in a collaborative, student-led environment.

Of the buildings destroyed by the tornado — 10 buildings in the Joplin School District were significantly damaged or completely devastated.
Read moreLOS ANGELES — Design firm DLR Group won a conceptual design competition with a unanimous vote by the judges to modernize Beverly Hills High School at an estimated cost of $150 million.
The firm beat out three other finalists for the contract to design the iconic high school, a part of the Beverly Hills Unified School District. The design team included architects from DLR’s Los Angeles, Seattle and Orlando offices.
